TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taiwan Lottery will add NT$400 million (US$13.18 million) in extra prize money across several games to celebrate the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival.
Taiwan Lottery President Hsieh Chih-hong (謝志宏) said Tuesday this year’s promotions will apply to three games, per CNA. For Lotto 6/49, 100 sets of NT$1 million bonus prizes will be offered in addition to the regular draws.
Players who match all six numbers in any special draw (numbers range from 1 to 49) will win NT$1 million. Prizes will be split equally for multiple winners with the same number set.
If not all 100 prizes are claimed by July 4, remaining draws will continue until all are awarded or the deadline is reached. Tickets are now available at authorized lottery retailers.
Hsieh also announced enhancements for BINGO BINGO, which holds draws every five minutes and lets players bet on whether numbers will be big or small, odd or even. From May 26 for 14 days, payout multipliers for these bets will rise from six times to seven.
For the first time since the game’s 2010 launch, the “super number” option will offer increased winnings, with prizes rising from NT$1,200 to NT$1,500 per winning ticket.
The 39 Happy Lotto, drawn Monday through Saturday, will offer bonus prizes for 20 consecutive draws from June 9 to July 1. The payout for matching two numbers will increase from NT$1,125 to NT$1,500, the longest bonus run in the game’s history.
Hsieh said the campaign is expected to boost lottery revenue by NT$1.6 billion.
