TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Inventec announced Wednesday its April consolidated revenue was NT$62.1 billion (US$2.05 billion), marking the strongest April performance in its history.
For the first four months of the year, the computer maker’s cumulative revenue totaled NT$219.13 billion, up 20.7% year-on-year, setting a new record for the period, per UDN. The company shipped 1.7 million notebook units in April, a 10.52% decrease from March but a 13.33% increase year-over-year, per CNA.
Inventec said it expects Q2 performance to benefit from customers’ preemptive stockpiling amid tariff policy uncertainties, with increased urgent orders for notebooks and servers to push results beyond expectations.
Inventec is scheduled to hold its quarterly earnings conference on Tuesday, where it will discuss Q3 operations. The company recently approved a plan at its April board meeting to invest up to NT$2.56 billion to establish a server manufacturing base in Texas.
This move aims to support global capacity layout, stabilize customer relationships, meet client shipping location demands, and mitigate the impact of fluctuating US tariff policies, the report said.
Regarding the Taiwan dollar’s recent sharp appreciation, Inventec noted that its global operations involve multiple currencies, including the US dollar, Chinese yuan, and Mexican peso. While the US dollar remains its primary currency for invoicing, the impact of fluctuations still depends on several factors.
