TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Chunghwa Telecom’s US subsidiary CHT Global opened an office in Dallas, Texas, to respond to growing demand for basic telecom infrastructure, reports said Thursday.
The Taiwanese telecommunications company already operates three offices in the US, in San Jose, California, New York, and Phoenix, Arizona. Chunghwa Telecom expects trade tariffs to generate international business opportunities, per CNA.
Wherever there are Taiwanese investors and businesses, the company will go, Chunghwa Telecom Chair Alex Chien (簡志誠) said in a message. He pointed to its presence in the US more than 20 years ago and added that Texas was playing an increasing role in the development of semiconductors, EVs, and other high-tech industries.
The state’s taxation system, harbor infrastructure, green energy, gas and water supply, had contributed to its role as an attractive destination for investment by Taiwanese businesses, according to Chunghwa Telecom. Corporations from Taiwan have set up or were expanding plants in Texas, manufacturing servers, semiconductors, and other electronics equipment, fueling a massive demand for telecom infrastructure.
Chunghwa Telecom said its Dallas office, opening Wednesday, would assist its customers and partners when setting up, expanding, and upgrading telecom systems.
