Tsai brought two songbooks and sang along to images on the screen. He also used toys that made sounds to awaken the audience.
Long-time collaborator Lee Kang-sheng (李康生) performed a five-minute slow walk. Fans captured the moment on their cell phones.
After the screening, Tsai burst into tears and thanked the audience. "Thank you for walking with me," said Tsai as he hugged and cried with the audience.
"If we want the world to be a better place, we have to slow down. Thank you, Taiwan, thank you for walking with me," said Tsai. The audience included fans from Russia, Japan, India, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and China.
Select portions of the “Walker” series will be screened again at the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute on Friday and Saturday. Future screenings will be at SPOT Huashan Cinema and Eslite Art House.
