TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The Tourism Administration invited four British travel influencers to promote Taiwan, reports said Friday, also confirming the number of European visitors reached pre-pandemic levels last year.
Taiwan welcomed 349,981 travelers from Europe in 2024, or 17% more than in 2023. Large European countries such as Germany, France, and the United Kingdom all recorded double-digit increases for last year, per CNA.
To keep attracting the youth market dubbed “Generation Z Travel,” the Tourism Administration said it asked four bloggers and content creators from the UK boasting a total of more than 6.5 million viewers to travel around Taiwan.
The duo Yaya and Lloyd, known as “Hand Luggage Only,” photographer Umit Yoruk, and Jennifer Tuffen placed special emphasis on Tainan and Chiayi County. They visited Alishan National Scenic Area, were introduced to its Indigenous culture and food, and received information about the Lantern Festival next year.
The Tourism Administration said it was using AI to design specially tailored travel itineraries. The digital program also uses audio and video to increase the effectiveness of promotional campaigns in the UK.
