TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – One of Taiwan’s top weapons manufacturers will invite domestic and international companies to put uncrewed surface vessels on display in June for potential customers, reports said Tuesday.
The event will take place near the Yilan port of Su’ao in mid-June, per CNA. The National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology wants to show the achievements of the domestic sector and supply information to buyers, including the military and the Coast Guard Administration.
The event is supposed to help interested parties understand the capabilities of various drone ships. An expo will introduce the ships' characteristics and their remote-controlled operations at sea.
The institute has considered the different functions of drone ships, including patrol, rescue, environmental research, and logistics. In addition, AI will help map routes and respond to changing environments.
