SEOUL (Taiwan News) — The Seoul-based art fair ART OnO, which features 40 galleries from 20 countries, opens on Thursday.
Seoul's art scene is buzzing with anticipation as the second edition of ART OnO prepares to open its doors at SETEC from April 11 to 13. However, art enthusiasts and collectors can get an exclusive first look at the fair's highly anticipated VIP Preview today.
Positioning itself as "Young and Fresh, but Classy," ART OnO 2025 promises a diverse and engaging showcase of contemporary art. This year's fair has attracted over 40 prominent galleries from more than 20 countries, solidifying its role as a key platform for cultural exchange in Asia.
The increased participation of Asian galleries underscores the fair's commitment to fostering regional artistic dialogue.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, ART OnO 2025 boasts a strong return of international galleries, signaling the fair's growing recognition within the global art community. Alongside these established names, the fair welcomes around 10 galleries making their debut in the Korean art market.
Several highlighted galleries offer unique perspectives on the contemporary art landscape. AISHO, a Japanese gallery based in Hong Kong, bridges East Asian and global art markets through interdisciplinary projects.
Taipei's own Artemin Gallery delves into the fascinating intersection of neuroscience and artistic expression. Making its Korean art fair debut is Kaikai Kiki Gallery, founded by Takashi Murakami, known for its influential blend of fine art and pop culture and its support of emerging artists.
Also new to the Korean market is NINO MIER GALLERY, with locations in New York and Brussels, presenting a cutting-edge program of international contemporary painters and sculptors.
Finally, NIKA Project Space joins the newcomers, adding its unique curatorial vision to the fair's dynamic atmosphere.
