TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Taipei has the fifth best public transport services in the world, reports said Tuesday.
Time Out consulted 18,500 residents in over 50 countries to rate public transportation in their cities. Taipei received an 88% rating from its inhabitants, the China Times reported.
Time Out recommended heading for Taipei Main Station. It is the hub for all transportation from the Taiwan High-Speed Rail to the Taipei Metro and the intercity bus network.
The report said the Mass Rapid Transit system is praised for its cleanliness and punctuality. Intercity buses use electronic screens with destinations in English and Mandarin, while the EasyCard provides access to the metro, buses, and YouBikes.
Hong Kong finished first on the Time Out list, with 98% of residents satisfied. It was followed by Shanghai, Beijing, and Abu Dhabi, while Taipei ranked just ahead of London.
