TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Evergreen Group opened its Halo House hotel in Taichung on Tuesday.
The 130-room hotel, located near the National Taichung Theater and Far Eastern Department Stores' Taichung branch, targets young consumers with a “light luxury” concept. Its average room rates start at NT$3,500 (US$114.8), per CNA.
The hotel, which began its soft opening in January, averaged a 50% occupancy rate on weekdays and about 80% on weekends. It expects to reach a 70% occupancy rate in its first year and aims to turn a profit next year.
Halo House features a hexagonal glass curtain wall exterior and curved designs from the lobby to guest rooms. The hotel combines hospitality, art, leisure, and opera themes, creating a distinctive architectural landmark in the city.
The hotel’s rooms also feature US Simmons beds and bath products from Bvlgari and Taiwan’s Teaory. Luxury levels on floors 9-14 include Dyson hair dryers.
The hotel's public spaces include a gym, self-service laundry, and German Kare design furnishings. The first floor houses Caffaina Coffee Gallery, known as Taiwan's most beautiful "park cafe."
