TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — More than 20 Taiwanese tech firms will attend AI-focused Nvidia GTC this week in San Jose, highlighting Taiwan’s key role in Nvidia’s supply chain.
The conference, running from March 17-21, features Foxconn, Asus, and Delta Electronics as diamond sponsors, CNA reported. Gigabyte and MSI are platinum sponsors, while Inventec, Lite-On, and Pegatron are gold sponsors. Silver sponsors include Compal and MediaTek.
This year marks Lite-On Technology and Compal’s first time participating in the event. TSMC, Nvidia’s key manufacturing partner, has been designated as a special sponsor.
Foxconn, a major producer of Nvidia’s GB200 servers, has significantly expanded its exhibition compared to last year. It will showcase innovations in smart manufacturing and digital twins.
Meanwhile, Compal has begun shipping servers equipped with Nvidia GH200 Grace Hopper chips and will present its latest AI server technology. Advantech will exhibit edge computing AI solutions, including service-guided robots and AI-powered medical equipment.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳), who was born in Taiwan, has maintained strong ties with Taiwanese manufacturers since the company’s early days. He has repeatedly praised Taiwan, calling it an unsung hero in the tech industry.
By the mid-to-late 2010s, as AI and deep learning surged, Nvidia repositioned GPUs as essential tools for AI computing, transforming GTC into a must-attend event for AI developers. In recent years, the conference has expanded to include supercomputers, data science, autonomous vehicles, and robotics.
