TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The US nonprofit Taiwan Next Foundation and Silicon Valley startup accelerator Plug and Play hosted Taiwan Demo Day on Saturday, showcasing 10 startups.
The event featured six US-based and four Taiwan-based teams, selected through a rigorous screening process, CNA reported.
Yu Wan-ju (余宛如), general manager of Industrial Technology Investment Corporation, said Taiwan is a global leader in technology, as demonstrated by TSMC’s investments in the US. She emphasized that Taiwan is at the forefront of the AI-driven industrial revolution, with strong R&D and manufacturing expertise. She added that Taiwan-US collaboration will further accelerate AI adoption and commercialization.
Taiwan Next Foundation CEO Hsieh Kai-ting (謝凱婷) said the event leveraged Plug and Play’s expertise in startup incubation to create more Taiwan-US opportunities. Hosting Taiwan Demo Day ahead of Nvidia GTC, a global AI conference, allows Taiwanese entrepreneurs—both in Taiwan and the US—to gain visibility among American investors and corporations, she added.
According to its website, Taiwan Next Foundation was established to expand the Taiwanese professional network and support Taiwanese technology associations in the US.
