TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — PXPay Plus in January became Taiwan’s first e-wallet brand to launch in South Korea, the supermarket chain said Wednesday.
PXPay Plus said in a press release that South Korean culture has become popular with the younger generation. By partnering with Hivex, PXPay Plus works with payment platforms including ZeroPay and ICB Co. Ltd., allowing access to over 1.9 million merchants nationwide.
Taiwanese travelers can pay by scanning the merchant’s QR code using the PXPay Plus app or their payment barcode. The transaction amount will be displayed in NTD within the PXPay Plus app and users can select between two payment methods, balance account or linked bank account.

ZeroPay and Hivex support a wide range of merchants, including convenience store chains like CU and 7-Eleven, plus retail stores like Daiso, Supy, and All Mask Story. Other establishments include restaurants like Mom’s Touch and Myth Jokbal and traditional markets such as Mangwon Market.
The company added that PXPay Plus users can save 1.5% on overseas transaction fees when making payments in South Korea. Additionally, from now until March 31, PXPay Plus is offering exclusive promotions in partnership with four domestic banks: Cathay United Bank, O-Bank, Next Bank, and E.Sun Bank.
By making payments using a linked account with these banks, users can earn up to 30% in PXPay Plus points, with a maximum of 950 points per month. By making payments using a PXPay Plus balance account at ZeroPay/Hivex merchants, users can earn rewards of up to 15%.

PXPay Plus users who link their bank accounts with the four banks will receive additional points. For Cathay United Bank, an additional 15% will be rewarded, a maximum of 200 PXPay Plus points for each user per month. For O-Bank, an extra 10% will be rewarded, a maximum of 50 points for each user within a single payment, 200 points maximum per month.
For Next Bank, an additional 10% will be rewarded, for a maximum of 50 points for each user with a single payment, and 150 PXPay Plus points per month. For E.Sun Bank, an additional 10% will be rewarded, with a maximum of 100 points for each user per month.
