TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taiwan Foundation for Democracy and UK-based Westminster Foundation for Democracy agreed to deepen smart parliament cooperation on Thursday.
TFD Chair Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) and WFD Director Duncan Hames signed a joint statement during a ceremony on Thursday, Liberty Times reported. The two sides aim to share experiences and best practices about developing and promoting smart parliaments and collaborate on international smart parliament events.
In his remarks, Hames highlighted the five key aspects of the agreement: safety, multi-stakeholder participation, artificial intelligence, responsiveness, and transparency. He hoped that both parties could promote democratic values and practices through cooperation.
Han praised the UK as a historical leader in democracy and industrial development. He also wanted to build friendships worldwide and engage in global business cooperation while embracing democracy.
