TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Analytics firm Clarivate listed Wistron on its 2025 100 Top Global Innovators for the fourth time, the electronics manufacturer reported Wednesday.
Clarivate explained that listed organizations prioritize innovation as a key business strategy. It added that their investment levels in science, engineering, and product design are on average 8.8% of their revenues.
Wistron said in a press release that its patent team collaborates closely with the R&D units and maintains high quality control. Wistron President and CEO Lin Chien-hsun (林建勳) said the company emphasizes innovation and intellectual property management, per CNA.
“At the same time, Wistron builds, accumulates, maintains, and manages a more comprehensive and forward-looking patent portfolio, covering various countries and regions and a wide range of technological fields, demonstrating a diversified and globalized patent strategy,” he added.
Clarivate President of Intellectual Property Gordon Samson said being recognized in the list is a remarkable achievement. He added that since 2000, there has been an 80-fold increase in inventions.
Other Taiwanese firms that made the list this year include Realtek Semiconductor, MediaTek, and Industrial Technology Research Institute. South Korea’s Samsung maintained its position as the number one global innovator.
