TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — China Airlines announced that its revenue for last year reached NT$203.88 billion (US$6.27 billion), CNA reported.
The company said the figure set a record, marking a 10.31% increase compared to 2023. It also reported a net profit of NT$14.38 billion, a new company record.
China Airlines' passenger revenue for last year reached NT$127.92 billion, a 10.54% increase from 2023. The airline also launched direct flights to Seattle and resumed flights to Japan’s Kagoshima.
The airline will increase flights between Taipei and Seoul, Busan, Vienna, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City, and other destinations starting March 30. It will operate all flights between Kaohsiung and Tokyo using A321neo aircraft. Additionally, flights between Kaohsiung and Chongqing will resume in April.
The air cargo market benefited from increased e-commerce and electronic product shipments starting in the second quarter last year. The airline’s cargo revenue rose 6.24%.
The company said it will put 10 additional 777F freighters into operation this year. It launched a new cargo route to Toronto in February and will continue to maintain the largest domestic freighter fleet.
China Airlines reported a February revenue of NT$16.04 billion, the second-highest for that month in its history. Cargo revenue totaled NT$4.52 billion, reflecting a 23.67% year-on-year increase.
During the ski season, the airline reported load factors for flights to Tokyo, Sapporo, and Seoul exceeded 90%. It also anticipates bookings for the cherry blossom season in March and April to surpass 90%.
EVA Air reported a February revenue of NT$16.68 billion, a 0.67% year-on-year increase. Passenger revenue reached NT$11.09 billion, while cargo revenue totaled NT$3.66 billion.
The airline reported a February load factor of over 80% on European and American routes, more than 90% on Japan and South Korea flights, and over 95% on Southeast Asia routes. To meet travel demands among Vietnamese passengers, it also increased flights between Taoyuan and Vietnam in February.
Starlux Airlines reported February revenue of NT$3.41 billion, a 19% year-on-year increase. Passenger revenue reached NT$3.01 billion, up 15%, with Japan routes achieving a load factor exceeding 90%.
Tigerair Taiwan reported February revenue of NT$1.53 billion, marking a 12.7% year-on-year increase and the second-highest for that month.
