TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — National Taiwan University hosted its Vision 2025 job fair on Saturday, attracting over 330 companies and 450 booths.
According to a press release, it is Taiwan’s largest and most forward-looking industry-academia networking event. NTU Vice President for Student Affairs Chu Shi-wei (朱士維) said nearly 150 companies are offering AI-related positions this year, and even traditional industries are seeking talent for AI roles, per UDN.
Many international professionals have come to Taiwan in recent years, he explained. Currently, 20% of NTU students are international students. Furthermore, around 170 companies are offering job opportunities for international and overseas Chinese students to stay in Taiwan.
Cathay Financial Holdings and its five subsidiaries are recruiting a total of 7,500 personnel, per CNA. The company reported job openings in data, cloud computing, and software engineering, with a demand for over 800 digital tech talents.
Fubon Bank and its subsidiaries will recruit 6,700 people this year, while CTBC Financial aims to recruit over 7,500 people this year, with plans to recruit more than 60 management trainees.
Taishin Financial Holdings is offering over 3,500 job openings this year, covering digital finance, technology development, marketing, and management.
World’s largest contract chipmaker TSMC also made forays at the event. The company plans to recruit approximately 8,000 employees in Taiwan this year, including engineers and technicians, an increase of over 2,000 positions compared to last year.
NTU said AI and digital technology have shifted companies’ focus from specialized expertise to cross-disciplinary integration. Companies are not only looking for AI engineers but also talent who can apply AI technology to diverse fields such as fashion, healthcare, manufacturing, and finance.
