TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan promoted cycling tourism at the Vancouver Outdoor Adventure and Travel Show over the weekend.
Taiwan’s booth featured a large map of national cycling routes and images of scenic landscapes, drawing interest from Canadian outdoor enthusiasts, per CNA.
Lee Sih-hsien (李思賢), director of the Taiwan Tourism Administration’s San Francisco Office, said Canadians are passionate about outdoor activities, making Taiwan’s diverse natural scenery and rich cultural heritage an appealing destination.
"We designed a large-scale map centered on the Taiwan Cycle Route No. 1, showcasing the nation's top 10 cycling destinations across the north, central, southern, and eastern regions," Lee said. "Many visitors inquired about how they can explore Taiwan by bike."
Lin Ting-mu (林挺睦), general manager of Signet Tours, noted that many Canadians are drawn to ecotourism, and Taiwan’s landscapes make it a prime destination.
Last month, Taiwan also promoted tourism at "Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show" in London, one of the UK's largest travel exhibitions. The booth highlighted Taiwan’s cultural and scenic attractions, including Sun Moon Lake and Jiufen’s tea houses.
