TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taipei International Machine Tool Show opened at Nangang Exhibition Center on Monday, attracting over 1,000 exhibitors across 6,100 booths.
Co-organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), more than 50,000 domestic and international visitors are expected to attend the six-day expo, per CNA.
TAMI Chair Chuang Ta-li (莊大立) said in his opening remarks that the global situation remains highly complex, per CNA. However, geopolitical shifts present opportunities for Taiwan’s machinery industry, per Liberty Times.
Chuang said that despite economic instability and sluggish conditions last year, several international buyers have still visited Taiwan, demonstrating the country’s industrial resilience. He anticipates a rebound for the manufacturing industry this year.
Taiwan’s supply chain has shifted from focusing on cost-performance ratios to energy conservation and carbon reduction, Chuang explained. He said green manufacturing processes and sustainable services would drive order growth.
Looking forward, Chuang emphasized AI’s importance and its applications in robotics. The industry must evolve from merely reacting to adapting to global political and economic shifts, he added.
