TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Railways Corporation (TRC) will launch a railway stamp book in collaboration with Yomiuri Travel, a subsidiary of the Yomiuri Shimbun Group, to promote Taiwan-Japan railway tourism exchanges.
Modeled after Japan’s “Tetsuincho” railway stamp book, TRC’s version will be released on June 9, Taiwan’s Railway Day, per CNA. The initiative aims to attract Japanese travelers to explore Taiwan by rail.
Passengers can collect free station stamps from railway staff at 20 stations across Taiwan, including Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Taitung, and Hualien. The stamps serve as a unique record of their railway journeys.
Japan ranked among the top five Asian markets most interested in visiting Taiwan in January. In February, flights between Kaohsiung and Kumamoto resumed, further strengthening travel ties.
