TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Hundreds of dolphins “presented an exclusive ocean dance” for a group of anglers on a fishing boat near Keelung on Friday.
Tour operator Hsiang Yen-hao (項彥豪) posted a video on Facebook of the encounter and later told CNA there were more than 200 dolphins. He said the pod was spotted between Chao Jing Park and Keelung Islet at around 10 a.m and remained there for about eight minutes.
Hsiang said he had only spotted groups of 10 dolphins in the area previously. He said he thought they were bottlenose dolphins judging by their patterns but could not confirm.
“In a second, the boat went from being a fishing vessel to being a sightseeing boat,” Hsiang wrote on Facebook. “Hundreds moved about the boat.”
