TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Pastaio Noodle Cafe is a fusion of culinary traditions from Sichuan, Thailand, and the Philippines, with signature dishes like flambeed French toast, crab roe spaghetti, and lobster pappardelle.
Founded in 2020, Pastaio revolutionized Taipei's dining scene with its fresh pasta philosophy, expanding to four locations across Taipei and New Taipei City. At the beginning of the new year the brand unveiled its innovative sub-concept, Pastaio Noodle Cafe, near Taipei Arena.
Highlights include the chili oil abalone belt pasta, marrying the signature chew of Shaanxi belt noodles with Sichuan-Chongqing spice profiles. The luxurious Jiangnan crab roe spaghetti, featuring golden crab roe, is enriched with the complex acidity of Zhenjiang and aged Jiangxi vinegars. The lobster pappardelle, meanwhile, captures the vibrant soul of Thai street cuisine.
The croissant collection showcases innovative interpretations of the classic French pastry. The avocado croissant features house-made avocado cream blended with yogurt, Mexican chili, and citrus, crowned with a poached egg, baby arugula, and freshly shaved Padano.
The soft shell crab croissant presents a perfectly crisp whole crab accompanied by an aromatic red curry sauce infused with dried shallots, lemongrass, galangal, and kaffir lime leaves, finished with a poached egg, pickled shallots, and fresh cilantro.
The cafe's piece de resistance is the French brulee toast. This indulgent creation features premium brioche from Purebread Bakery, sliced to a 4 cm thickness and soaked in vanilla custard for 12 hours.
The result is a caramelized exterior reminiscent of creme brulee, concealing a custard-like center. Available in four variations – flambeed orange-honey, pistachio, strawberry, and classic – it's the perfect savory complement to any time of day.
The dining experience is elevated cafe cuisine and there is a comprehensive menu extending beyond pasta to authentic Italian focaccia sandwiches.
In addition, Pastaio offers a sophisticated ambiance with copper pearl archways, marble accents, and lush greenery, offering both refined indoor seating and a tranquil outdoor terrace.
