TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A rally to support Ukraine on the third anniversary of Russia's invasion of the country will be held in Taipei on Sunday.
The group Taiwan Stands with Ukraine is organizing an event titled "No Free Ukraine — No World Justice," to protest the Russian invasion that started on Feb. 24, 2022. The group says that its members include Ukrainians in Taiwan, visiting Ukrainian advocates, Taiwanese civil society, journalists, and activists.
Amid peace talks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia between the US and Russia that are excluding Ukraine, TSWU warned, “The world as we know it will cease to exist if Russia walks unpunished!”
The group argued that it is the “aggressor” Russia that must “face full justice for the war and devastation it has caused to Ukraine and the world.”

The organizers said that aerial attacks, torture, kidnappings, and displacement have become “our tragic reality” and asked, “Can we accept this as the new normal?”
“Russia’s actions devalue human life, undermine the rules-based order, and embolden other authoritarians to choose aggression,” said the organizers.
The group said it would hold the protest in front of Russia's de facto embassy in Taipei to “demand justice for the victim and punishment for the aggressor.”
TSWU said the protest will conclude with a performance that may be disturbing “as it portrays the horrors of Russia's crime in Ukraine.” Donation boxes will be placed at the scene to help Ukrainians cope with the harsh winter.
