TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taiwan tourism delegation hosted a promotional event in India’s New Delhi on Tuesday.
The delegation comprised representatives from the Tourism Administration, the travel industry, and aviation sector. Travel operators introduced their unique offerings and hosted a prize-winning quiz for attendees, per CNA.
Additionally, the delegation invited Indian influencers to share their travel experiences in Taiwan.
Paul Shih (施志忠), director of the administration’s office in Singapore, and Taiwan’s envoy to India, Ko Pao-hsuan (葛葆萱), also attended the event.
Shih said the promotion targeted high-spending travelers from India. He hoped this would boost the nation’s tourism and economy.
The ministry has introduced free or electronic visa services for countries covered by the "New Southbound Policy," with India among the beneficiaries. Shih said that Indian travelers to Taiwan will enjoy discounts and offers.
Ko emphasized the strong friendship and long-standing cultural ties between Taiwan and India.
The delegation is attending South Asia’s Travel & Tourism Exchange in New Delhi from Wednesday to Friday. It will host another tourism promotion event in Mumbai on Monday.
Indian travel agency Axplore Travelplus organized a corporate trip for Asian Paints Limited, bringing 800 Indian travelers to Taiwan in batches from Feb. 9 to Tuesday. The five-day, four-night trip features visits to Taipei's Dadaocheng, Ximending, Taipei 101 and Taipei Zoo.
