TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Eva Air was judged to be among the best airlines in the world in the latest international airline rankings.
Review site AirlineRatings.com Saturday released its rankings of the “World's Best Airlines for 2025,” with Korean Air taking the top spot. Taiwan has two airlines on the list: EVA Air ranked 11th, and Starlux Airlines placed 18th.
The ranking considers passenger comfort, customer feedback, and product consistency across an air carrier's route network. AirlineRatings.com praised Korean Air for prioritizing passenger comfort, especially in economy class, and maintaining its original seat configuration, helping it surpass last year’s winner, Qatar Airways, to claim the Airline of the Year for 2025 title.
According to AirlineRatings.com, Korean Air excelled in passenger comfort, offering an industry-leading 84-86 cm of seat pitch in economy class. In addition, it enhances medium- to long-haul journeys by providing slippers and larger meal portions, further boosting its appeal.
Trailing Korean Air was Qatar Airways, followed by Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Japan Airlines, Qantas, Etihad, and Turkish Airlines rounding out the top 10.
In January, the airline review site rated EVA Air as the seventh safest full-service airline. EVA Air President Clay Sun (孫嘉明) said the ranking underscored the air carrier's “excellent flight safety record" and the firm's unwavering commitment to safety.
In its overview of EVA Air, the site lauded the airline for its long track record of exceptional service quality and innovation in its offerings. The site said EVA Air's fleet is modern, and well-maintained, “enhancing overall travel comfort and safety.”
The site noted that the airline has gained recognition for its high standards of customer service, broad route network, in-flight dining, and entertainment options.
