TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — E.Sun Financial Holding Co. has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kumamoto Prefectural Government to foster collaboration between Japanese and Taiwanese businesses.
The agreement was signed by Kumamoto Governor Kimura Takashi and E.Sun Chair Huang Nan Chou (黃男州). Kimura hopes to expand partnership areas in Kumamoto's regional revitalization, tourism, and sports, per CNA.
Kimura noted that the growing presence of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry is contributing to Kumamoto’s internationalization and creating new opportunities. Located in central Kyushu, the region has seen an influx of businesses, especially following the opening of E.Sun’s local office last year.
Huang highlighted Kumamoto's growing significance in the global semiconductor supply chain. E.Sun plans to offer financial consulting services, support investment promotion events, and facilitate economic forums to bridge Taiwanese and Japanese enterprises.
As part of the memorandum of understanding, E.Sun will focus on promoting “local revitalization” through projects like the regeneration and maintenance of the Aso Grasslands. The Aso Grasslands play a crucial role in retaining rainwater and enriching the local volcanic soil.
E.Sun operates 33 overseas branches in 11 countries, including three locations in Japan: Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Kumamoto.
