TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Anonymous hacked into a Russian website to get revenge for a cyberattack against Taiwan in September.
An Anonymous representative who goes by the Reddit handle "HaileeSteinfeldFan" told Taiwan News the collective had hacked into a Russian blogging service Diary.ru on Monday. The defacements include three pages (page 1, page 2, page 3), the latter two of which remain online.
The background of the page has been changed to blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian flag. The defacement starts with the Anonymous emblem, the Anonymous logo, a photo of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and a video of the New York Philharmonic playing the Ukrainian National Anthem.

Next is a meme promoting the North Atlantic Fellas Organization, an internet meme movement founded to counter Russian propaganda.
The collective then wrote the words “Taiwan Numbah Wan,” a reference to a quote uttered by video game streamer AngryPug in 2015 to antagonize a Chinese gamer. This was followed by the Taiwan flag and the World Taiwanese Congress flag.
The hacktivists said the defacement was in response to the cyberattack by the pro-Russia hacker group Noname057(16) against Taiwanese websites such as the TWSE in September. In a tweet, Noname057(16) claimed the attack was launched because President Lai Ching-de (賴清德) had suggested China “take away Russia's land in the Far East.”

A video then appears with an Anonymous member wearing a Guy Fawkes mask calling for the creation of a "neutral grouping" of countries "wedged between NATO and Russia" that would include Ukraine, Finland, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Moldova.
This "neutral security belt" could serve as an alliance similar to NATO or the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the group argues. It says such a grouping would act as a cordon sanitaire to “assuage Russia's fears without NATO losing its face.”
