TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The remains of Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu (徐熙媛) returned to Taiwan aboard a private charter jet on Wednesday afternoon.
CNA reported that Hsu's remains arrived at Taipei Songshan Airport at around 3 p.m., accompanied by her sister Dee Hsu (徐熙娣), brother-in-law Mike Hsu (許雅鈞), husband Koo Jun-yup (具俊曄), and her mother. Hsu died of pneumonia while traveling in Japan on Tuesday, shocking fans in Taiwan and abroad.
Hsu’s family issued a statement via her agent after they landed in Taiwan. “Thank you to the media who waited for Xiyuan's return in the cold weather. She has arrived home safely, and we know she is now happy and carefree in heaven," it read.
The family also said there would be no farewell ceremony for Hsu, emphasizing she had always been a low-key person. They also thanked everyone who had shown concern and asked that they keep Hsu in their memories.
