TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A young Vietnamese woman has claimed Taiwan’s second "NT$12 million Big Fortune” scratch card grand prize in Changhua, Taiwan Lottery confirmed on Saturday.
The woman, along with three Vietnamese friends, visited Xiangfu lottery shop without any particular strategy or number selection. She purchased four tickets, and one of them won her the grand prize of NT$12 million (US$364,243), per CNA.
The woman shared that she plans to send the entire prize money back to her family in Vietnam to help them celebrate the Lunar New Year. She will continue working in Taiwan.
The “NT$12 million Big Fortune” offers a total of six NT$12 million grand prizes and 175 NT$1 million prizes. As of Friday, Taiwan Lottery statistics show that two NT$12 million prizes and 13 NT$1 million prizes have been claimed.
The lottery store reported that the store’s “treasure pot” was taken to the Puyan Shunze Temple for a blessing before the Lunar New Year. The store owner, surnamed Chen (陳), said that even so he never expected such good fortune and hopes the prosperity will continue, per CTEE.
