TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A customer who spent NT$69 (US$2.10) on a lunchbox at PX Mart in Puzi, Chiayi County, won a NT$10 million (US$305,000) special prize in the latest round of Taiwan’s receipt lottery, announced Saturday.
The Ministry of Finance revealed the winning numbers for receipts issued in November and December 2024. Among the NT$10 million special prize winners were two customers at 7-Eleven convenience stores and one at a PX Mart supermarket, highlighting that even modest purchases can yield massive rewards, per CNA.
The lunchbox buyer in Puzi wasn’t the only PX Mart customer to strike it rich. Another customer in Taichung purchased rice wine for NT$77 and also won NT$10 million.
Meanwhile, two lucky 7-Eleven customers joined the NT$10 million winners. One bought soup, fresh food, and other items worth NT$169 in Luzhu, Taoyuan City, while another purchased fresh food and coffee for NT$147 in Kaohsiung’s Zuoying District.
Smaller purchases also paid off handsomely in the NT$2 million tier. A 7-Eleven customer who spent NT$76 on chicken breast, a tea egg, and a drink in Luzhu was among the winners, the convenience store chain confirmed.
Additionally, seven 7-Eleven customers won NT$1 million through the cloud-based receipt lottery. The most modest winning purchase was NT$35 for a beverage in Nantou City, while another winner spent NT$40 on a drink in Yongkang, Tainan City.
The Ministry of Finance reminded winners to claim their prizes between Feb. 6 and May 5.
