TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The New Taipei City Government will host a light sculpture exhibition at New Taipei Metropolitan Park in Sanchong District from Saturday to March 23.
The exhibition will be illuminated from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily during the event period. It spans Lunar New Year, Lantern Festival, and Valentine’s Day, per CNA.
The city’s High Riverbank Construction Management Office Director Huang Yu-pin (黃裕斌) said the exhibition is a romantic space created for couples. Six light sculpture works will be featured this year, each showcasing a symbol of love.
Huang said the magpie light sculpture is the exhibition's highlight. It symbolizes the reunion of the weaver girl and the cowherd, capturing the romance of an ancient Chinese myth.
"Curved love" and "brilliant heart" feature unique light and shadow designs. Huang hopes the exhibition will become a popular photo spot for couples.
Huang added the park is the city's popular tourist destination, designed for pedestrians and cyclists. Visitors can also enjoy the city's riverside night views.
The office reminded visitors to take the Taipei Metro and get off at Sanchong Station, or ride the Taoyuan Airport MRT and alight at A2 Sanchong Station.
