TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — AI image recognition company Solomon showcased Nvidia Isaac-powered robot arms at CES in Las Vegas last week.
Isaac is Nvidia’s AI robot development platform, providing libraries and models for developers to train robotic systems. Solomon’s robots demonstrated real-time recognition of objects even in fast motion, per CNA.
Solomon Product Manager Lee Chia-yun (李佳運) said that complex component assembly requires tactile skills and cannot be fully automated by robots. Clients still rely on manual assembly, but employees can learn from AI robots and reduce extensive training.
Lee explained that for printed circuit board inspections, which take months for workers to master, the AI platform can teach employees on their first day.
Solomon said it offers an AI platform that enables advanced training through devices like smartphones and smart glasses. The company added it has integrated its AI platform into 15 smart glasses, including Apple’s Vision Pro.
Meanwhile, Nvidia released a slew of AI products at CES. CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) revealed its open license Cosmos World Foundation Model to speed up AI robotics development at a reduced cost, per Reuters.
Additionally, Nvidia is narrowing its selection for an overseas headquarters in Taiwan. Taipei City Government is looking for suitable locations but no further information has been released.
