TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Advantest Taiwan Chair Wu Wan-kun (吳萬錕) said Thursday that its equipment testing plans with TSMC are proceeding as planned.
Wu said at a media briefing that due to strong demand for AI and high-performance computing, chip testing delivery times are tight and have been extended by six to eight months, per CNA.
Wu added that while he cannot comment on TSMC’s production schedule, he said all manpower and equipment are committed to the chipmaker’s requirements.
Additionally, Advantest said the long-term growth trend for semiconductors remains unchanged, with the testing equipment market growing, per CNA.
Industry sources said in 2024, Advantest’s global market share for high-end testing equipment is about 58%. Major customers for the company’s semiconductor testing equipment include chip giants Nvidia and AMD and chipmaker TSMC.
