TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Taiwan People’s Party Caucus Whip Huang Kuo-chang (黃國昌) was caught in an angry outburst with his Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) counterpart Ker Chien-ming (柯建銘) Tuesday.
Senior lawmakers were sitting together to discuss the passage of several pieces of legislation on the last day of the year when Huang arrived, Ettoday reported. He reportedly approached Ker to complain about last Friday’s session, accusing the DPP of using delaying tactics.
However, because Ker had just undergone surgery on his knee, DPP Legislator Tsai Yi-yu (蔡易餘) put himself between the two men. He was worried that the quarrel would result in Ker being injured, the report said.
Because of his intervention, Huang turned away from Ker and screamed repeatedly in anger at Tsai instead, accusing Tsai of hitting him before storming out of the room. Another DPP lawmaker, Lin Chun-hsien (林俊憲), documented the incident on his social media.
