TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Two Taiwanese influencers have released a two-part documentary on the tactics used by the CCP’s United Front to recruit Taiwanese to manipulate public opinion.
The two men, a video producer named Pa Chiung (八炯) and a rapper named Minnan Wolf (閩南狼), pretended to be Taiwanese supporters of the CCP to be invited to the Taiwan Entrepreneurship Park in Fujian, China, reported VOA. While there, they recorded discussions with United Front officials about receiving payments to create pro-China content targeting Taiwanese audiences.
The two-part documentary is available on Ba Jiong’s YouTube channel. Part one was uploaded on Dec. 6 and has received over 2.8 million views.
A press conference was held on Saturday to highlight the release of the documentary’s second part. The documentary provides first-hand evidence of the United Front's efforts to infiltrate and manipulate Taiwanese media and raises the alarm about the number of Taiwanese who CCP offers have already enticed.
The film explores various ways that Chinese agents provide financial support and other material benefits, including bribes and identification documents, to recruit agents in their ongoing information war targeting Taiwan. It also purports to expose rampant corruption in Fujian by CCP officials who waste significant resources, which could be better spent on local infrastructure and social programs, per Vision Times.
In part two, the documentary claims that the head of the United Front Office in Fujian is Taiwanese and a member of Taiwan's People First Party (PFP), who was allegedly “sent by James Soong (宋楚瑜).” The PFP responded on Saturday to reject the allegations, condemning them as false, reported UDN.
Minnan Wolf previously made pro-China content with some success in China, for which he was known as a “little pink.” However, in recent years, he changed his political stance to be stridently anti-CCP, and his experiences with the United Front form the basis of the documentary's look into the workings of the United Front Work Office.
