TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — National Science and Technology Museum in Kaohsiung will debut an art exhibition celebrating impressionism’s 150th anniversary on Saturday.
The exhibition will feature an immersive experience, showcasing the timeless charm of Impressionist paintings, per CNA. It is set to run from Dec. 28 to April 6.
Museum Director-General Lee Hsiu-feng (李秀鳳) at a press conference on Friday said impressionism profoundly influenced art’s development. The exhibition represents a fusion of technology and art, showcasing art’s freedom through light and shadow, she added.
“Golden Impression” presents the history of Impressionism, reviewing how this art changed the direction of art. “Parisian Elegance” focuses on city depictions by artists such as Claude Monet, showcasing the prosperity and romance of 19th-century Paris.
“Dance of Light” is an area exclusive to the museum, using multimedia to recreate the beauty of light and shadow in impressionist paintings. “Song of the Seasons” features Monet’s “Water Lilies” and “Wheatfield.”
