TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The TPP's Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) was released on bail and returned home after 114 days in custody on Friday.
The Taipei District Court Thursday ruled that Ko, who had been detained and held incommunicado due to his involvement in Core Pacific City and political donation cases, be released on NT$30 million (US$915,000) bail. Afterward, Ko gave a brief statement outside his residence thanking supporters, per UDN.
Accompanied by his wife Chen Pei-chi (陳佩琪), he thanked God for enabling him to reflect on his life. He reiterated he was not corrupt.

He recalled that during his most despairing moments in detention, he heard people cheering “Go Uncle!” Ko added that life is not always smooth.
He said that he had not read so much in a long time. However, he added the dim lighting in prison made it difficult.
