TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Economics Minister Kuo Jyh-huei (郭智輝) has arrived in Belgium for high-level talks with senior European Union officials, reports said Wednesday.
Kuo met with European Commission Director-General for Trade Sabine Weyand and with Deputy Director-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs Maive Rute, per CNA. He hopes to boost cooperation in the fields of robots and AI.
Kuo exchanged views with EU officials about the internationalization of SMEs and promotion of the circular economy. He shared his views on the importance of Taiwan’s role in the international economy while facing the challenge of geopolitics and climate change.
Kuo also invited the EU to send a delegation to Taiwan next year to organize and attend an EU innovation week. The event would help deepen exchanges and cooperation between SMEs on both sides, the Ministry of Economic Affairs said.
