TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Taiwan returned to being among the top 20 source countries for tourists visiting the United States following the COVID-19 pandemic, reports said Tuesday.
Taiwan was listed as No. 22 from January to July. In August, the 42,000 Taiwanese who traveled to the US helped it return to the top 20 list, per CNA.
The surge reflected optimism about the travel situation, with more airlines launching flights between Taiwan and the US. Numbers showed that travel between the two places had recovered to 94% of pre-COVID levels.
Seattle and Guam were the destinations most likely to see increases in air services. Furthermore, daily flights between Kaohsiung and Tokyo’s Narita Airport next July will give south Taiwan residents a new travel option to the US.
In November 2025, EVA Air will launch five flights a week to Dallas, Texas, according to the Discover America Committee in Taiwan.
