TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Minimum temperatures in north Taiwan are highly likely to dip below 10 C Saturday evening and Sunday morning according to weather forecasters.
The Central Weather Administration issued cold surge advisories for New Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu County, and Miaoli. Strong wind advisories were in force for coastal areas on the west coast from Taoyuan to Yunlin and in Pingtung and Penghu, and on the east coast in Pingtung and Taitung.
Early Monday would see a gradual weakening of the cold front, per CNA. Maximum temperatures were likely to rise to between 17 C and 19 C in the north, the east, Kinmen, and Penghu, and above 20 C in the rest of the country.
However, new cold air masses were expected to hit the north around December 18-20 and December 21-23, according to CWA forecasters.
