TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Starlux Airlines Chair Chang Kuo-wei (張國煒) piloted the company’s seventh Airbus A350-900 from France to Taiwan Friday as the airline proposed more flights to the United States.
The company chair picked up the plane in Toulouse, and landed at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at 11:31 a.m. Friday, per CNA. Starlux is expecting another A350-900 before the end of the month and one more during the first quarter of 2025.
As a result of the expansion of its fleet, the airline will increase the frequency of its flights to Los Angeles from seven to 10 per week beginning Dec. 22. Seattle will see one flight per day instead of three per week from March 1.
Including the one daily flight to San Francisco, Starlux said it would have 24 flights a week serving the three main cities on the US West Coast.
Friday’s new aircraft means Starlux now operates 25 planes, including 13 A321neo, five A330neo, and seven A350-900. Previously, the airline, which started flying in 2020, said it would operate 48 aircraft by the end of 2026.
