TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A moderate earthquake struck off Taiwan's east coast on Saturday afternoon with shaking felt in several regions.
The magnitude 4.7 shake occurred just before 4 p.m., according to the Central Weather Authority. Its epicenter was in the ocean approximately 60 kilometers east of Hualien County Hall with a focal depth of 15.1 km.
The strongest shaking was felt in Hualien and Yilan. Milder shaking was also felt in greater Taipei, Nantou, Taitung, Taichung, Changhua, and Chiayi.
There were no reports of injury or damage as of press time.
