TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A magnitude 4.1 earthquake occurred in southwest Taiwan at 10:30 a.m. on Monday (Nov. 25), according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
As of publication, no injuries or damage from the earthquake were reported. Taiwan uses an intensity scale of 1 to 7 to gauge the degree to which a quake is felt at a specific location.
The quake’s intensity registered a 3 in Yunlin County, Nantou County, and Chiayi County. An intensity level 2 of a was reported in Chiayi, Changhua County, Tainan, and Taichung.
An intensity level of 1 was measured in Taitung County, Hualien County, Penghu County, and Miaoli County.
The CWA said its epicenter was 29.7 km south of Nantou County Hall with a 13.7 km focal depth.
