TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The strengthening of northeasterly seasonal winds will take minimum temperatures in the north as low as 14 C next week, forecasters said Thursday (Nov. 21).
The Central Weather Administration predicted that after a relatively dry weekend, a front would arrive early next week, the Liberty Times reported. Cold air could force temperatures down to 14-16 C on Thursday (Nov. 28) and Friday morning.
Central and south Taiwan will likely see temperatures between 16 and 18 C. Rainfall in the north, east, and mountainous areas in the south should diminish after Wednesday, with the lower temperatures accompanied by dry air except on the east coast.
There was as yet no prediction as to when temperatures would recover after the first autumn cold front.
