TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — One of Taiwan's most popular fried chicken chains, J&G Fried Chicken, will open its second US branch this month.
The company held a soft opening of its new branch at the Irvine Spectrum in California's Orange County on Nov. 1. The eatery will hold its grand opening on Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 23-24).
The first 100 customers during the two grand opening days will receive one free regular-size J&G Popcorn Chicken. Diners who present their receipts will be eligible to win free raffle prizes until 4 p.m.
Diners are advised to RSVP for the grand opening. A webpage has been created for the Irvine branch, which is located next to its partner 85°C Bakery Cafe.
J&G Fried Chicken‘s sandwiches offer flavors including original, spicy, yuzu, and sweet and sour, which can be washed down with Taiwanese fruit teas.
The Irvine branch is the second of three stores planned for the US this year, with the first being in Hacienda Heights, California. Its goal is to eventually have 150 stores in the US and 1,000 globally within 10 years.
The fried chicken chain has 500 shops globally, including 70 in Taiwan and 430 in countries such as Canada, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
