TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Electronics manufacturer Foxconn said Tuesday (Nov. 19) it will build a next-gen AI factory with Nvidia using its Omniverse platform.
Foxconn in a Tuesday press release said this collaboration aims to revolutionize the future of manufacturing with digital twins, a digital replica of a physical object.
The company said this technology not only accelerates Foxconn’s global expansion but also enhances corporate resilience. In the face of supply chain disruptions or sudden market demands, Foxconn said it can simulate manufacturing process changes and adjust production strategies.
During last year’s Foxconn Technology Day (HHTD), the two companies showcased their collaboration for the first time. Foxconn used Nvidia’s Omniverse platform to establish a 3D digital twin automated production line at its Hsinchu plant in Taiwan.
Foxconn also applied this technology to its Mexico plant. The fab integrated the Isaac robotics platform and AI-driven simulation with OpenUSD (Universal Scene Description) data standards.
Meanwhile, Nvidia reported Monday (Nov. 18) that Foxconn’s Mexico plant is expected to begin mass production in early 2025. It will be the largest plant to produce the Nvidia GB200 superchip.
