TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) Thursday (Nov. 14) said Taiwan will continue to improve its defensive resilience due to the China threat.
Lin said he accompanied President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) to meet a delegation from the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). It was led by Admiral John Aquilino, former commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command on Wednesday. Lin hosted the delegation at a luncheon on Thursday.
At the luncheon, Lin expressed gratitude for CNAS’ steadfast support of Taiwan over the years. He also acknowledged Aquilino’s long-standing commitment to regional security and support for Taiwan’s defensive capabilities.
Lin invited former National Security Council advisers Kuo Lin-wu (郭臨伍) and Lee Han-ming (李漢銘) to attend Thursday's event. Both have extensive experience in implementing national security policies.
Lin said that despite China's psychological and legal warfare, Taiwan will continue to strengthen its defensive resilience. He also called for global cooperation to counter authoritarian expansion and maintain peace across the Taiwan Strait.
