TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Electric scooter company Gogoro attracted over 2,000 riders for its annual flash mob at Taipei Bridge on Saturday (Nov. 2).
According to a Monday (Nov. 4) press release, Gogoro board member Yin Chung-yao (尹崇堯) said most Taiwanese are accustomed to using scooters for commuting. “Therefore, electric scooters play a crucial role in achieving net-zero emissions by 2050,” he said.
“As a shareholder and electric vehicle enthusiast, I was deeply moved by the enthusiasm and warmth of everyone at the Taipei Bridge event,” Yin added. “I appreciate the support of all the vehicle owners and will continue to support Gogoro's sustainable development, hoping to realize the vision of net-zero emissions with partners from all sectors.”
Interim CEO Henry Chiang (姜家煒) said the Taipei Bridge event has been an important event for all-electric vehicle enthusiasts in Taiwan since 2016.
“Gogoro's promise to Taiwanese consumers remains steadfast,” he said. “We will double our efforts to continually improve, delivering reliable, predictable, and affordable products and services.”
In other news, with the launch of the company’s collaboration with Muji, the Gogoro VIVA XL ME, Gogoro’s market share in October was impressive, with 5,854 units registered. This represents a 9.15% market share and a 12.49% increase from the previous month.
Additionally, Gogoro said it is offering multiple discounts in its year-end sales event, including an exclusive $199 monthly green plate tariff plan.
