TAIPEI (Taiwan News)—Several schools in Taipei announced closures on Friday (Oct. 25) due to heavy rain from Tropical Storm Trami's outer circulation.
The Central Weather Administration (CWA) issued rain advisories for seven counties and cities, including an extremely heavy rain advisory for Keelung, Taipei, New Taipei, and Yilan County.
At 9:50 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 24), the Taipei Department of Education announced five schools would be closed, per FTV News.
In addition, considering that most students commute by scooter, Chinese Culture University announced that courses would be moved online, while staff will continue to work as usual.
The following schools will be closed on Friday:
Taipei
Taipei Municipal Yangmingshan Elementary School: Work and classes canceled
Taipei City Beitou District Hutian Vil: Work and classes canceled
Gezhi Junior High School: Work and classes canceled
Taipei Hutian Experimental Elementary School: Work and classes canceled
Taipei Hwa Kang Arts School: Work and classes canceled
