TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) on Wednesday (Oct. 23) began a 10-day trip to meet with five diplomatic allies in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Lin will visit five diplomatic allies: Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Guatemala, Saint Lucia, Belize, and Saint Kitts and Nevis. He will meet with heads of state and inspect local cooperation projects promoted by Taiwan, said the foreign ministry.
“I will be visiting multiple allied countries and representing our people as the president's special envoy to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ 45th independence celebration,” Lin also wrote on X.
Lin said the trip will deepen cooperation with Taiwan’s allies and enhance the well-being of people from both countries. He said Taiwan has a profound friendship with its Latin American and Caribbean allies, cooperating in areas such as public health, agriculture, education, information and communications, and women's empowerment to promote mutually beneficial projects.
