TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Stock Exchange peaked at 23,678.51 points in the morning trading session, up by 191.24 points on Monday (Oct. 21.)
TSMC opened at NT$1,090 (US$34), up NT$5, per UDN. As of Saturday, TSMC’s single stock market value reached NT$28.13 trillion, accounting for 37.47% of Taiwanese stocks' total market value, per CNA.
A fluctuation of NT$1 in TSMC's stock price impacts the overall market by approximately 8.11 points. The company’s early trading high contributed about 81 points to the index.
Securities firms said foreign investors significantly reduced their net short positions in Taiwan index futures on Friday, bringing them below 30,000 contracts. Taiwan stock market short-term moving averages showed a bullish pattern, supported by strong AI concept stocks and gradually increasing trading volume.
